You've been with Encore for many years. How did you initially get into the industry?

That’s a funny story. It was by accident. I had just completed an Electronics and Electrical Engineering degree and was unsure of what to do next. I travelled to London to attend a job interview with no idea what the company did. They were starting work on the first European moving lights, competing with the VL1. This was in 1983. I became part of the development team and have been in the industry ever since.

What is it that you enjoy the most about your work?

The most fulfilling aspect of my job is working alongside a team of highly motivated and engaged individuals who share my passion for delivering exceptional event experiences. We work tirelessly to ensure that every project we take on is executed flawlessly and the results speak for themselves. It’s gratifying to be a part of a team committed to creating meaningful work that positively impacts those who experience it. Each day brings new challenges and opportunities for growth.

If you had to give some advice to someone who is looking to get started in the industry, what would it be?

I believe one of the most effective ways to start is by cultivating a humble attitude, as it will help you learn from others and stay open to new opportunities. Maintain a sense of curiosity to ask thoughtful questions and gain valuable insights from those around you. This, in turn, can help you expand your knowledge base and develop a unique skill set that sets you apart from others in the industry.
