The HUM team had, to the untrained eye, a wealth of complex requests. To Encore, the brief was simple: one trusted supplier to provide full technical production, matching the exacting expectations and specifications given.
These specifications included staging, custom carpentry, LED screens, video control, cameras, sound, lighting, and, of course, exemplary production management throughout the live event. All design ideas came from the brilliant minds at HUM TV, and they relied on Encore to manage seamless technical delivery that would transform their ideas into reality
The scale of the event was not to be underestimated – from both a cultural and a technical perspective. Encore put their best team to work to ensure this was the most spectacular Hum Awards yet.
Navigating time zones, multiple stakeholders, and a precise visual concept, all within the eight-week turnaround from signoff to delivery, required immediate teamwork between the internal experts of Encore, as well as our production partners at 80six, who provided the high-resolution LED displays that would showcase the event’s dynamic visual content.
The devil is, as always, in the details, and the Encore team focused their initial efforts on meticulously planning the pre-production phase, to ensure seamless installation once onsite. Once inside Wembley, the team stuck to a tight rigging schedule, which required 90% of the build to be completed in 18 hours. The custom rigging solution featured building a full-size stage, suitable for hundreds of performers and the all-important awards, as well as a combination of flown and ground-stacked LED displays, set at varying angles.
The complexity of the build, combined with specific and rigid time frames, required a rotation of all team members to ensure fresh eyes were always on hand, and to maintain the excellent standards of safety and quality that are expected of Encore.
The proof is in the pudding, as the saying goes, and the result is best seen to be believed. The incredible event was captured from start to finish by our uniquely talented videographer, Bircan Tulga, and reflects the true size and scale of this unforgettable event.
